ICEMAN can honestly claim to be Northern Ireland’s first In-Car Entertainment specialists.  It was started in 1990 by a young and enthusiastic Russell Hughes and Russell is still the proud proprietor.

 

“As an enthusiast of In-Car Entertainment, I thought I could see a gap in the market.  Not many local suppliers of car audio had any fitting bays or fitting expertise.  In-Car interior design was progressing at a fierce pace, and I thought the only way forward as to specialise.  I really had no idea the can of worms I was about to open!”

 

And what changes have you seen in 20 years?

 

“Obviously huge advances in electronics.  No one had even heard about I-pods in 1990!  In car D.V.D. has also had a major impact on our business, with lots of new skills required to fit head rest monitors and roof screens.”

 

And the future?

 

“Hopefully lots of new exciting products – I feel in car broadband and perhaps satellite radio systems are not that far away.  Our future is still to strive to supply and install the best In-Car Entertainment.  It’s in our name after all, although that still needs to be explained several times a week!”

 

ICEMAN has a purpose designed facility at 68 Balloo Road, Bangor.  A bright spacious showroom with lots of goodies, and a three car workshop supported by ample car parking.

 

Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:30, and Saturday from 9:00 to 5:00
